Westborn Market Remembers Forgotten Harvest

DEARBORN, Mich. – Michigan’s cold winter will hopefully be less bitter for thousands of hungry people in metro Detroit, thanks to donations from customers and staff at Westborn Market.  During the past month, this independent gourmet grocer’s three stores collected donations totaling nearly $14,400 for Forgotten Harvest, a mobile food rescue organization in metro Detroit. DEARBORN, Mich. - Parkmobile announced  a new service that will allow residents and visitors in Dearborn to save time and money by using their mobile phone to pay for parking at meters in the west downtown district. Phase one of the program will begin in metered Lot H, located at West Village Drive between Mason and Monroe, south of Michigan Avenue. Motorists are advised that Telegraph Road intersections in Dearborn will be affected by a large funeral procession on Wednesday, Dec. 22 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.  Police advise drivers to avoid the area during this timeframe. The funeral procession will be traveling from 7 Mile in Detroit to a cemetery in Flat Rock. The funeral is for border patrol agent Brian A. Terry who was killed in Arizona while on duty last week. Dearborn Man Shoots Self in Leg

Don't fall asleep with your finger on the trigger, or you might shoot yourself in the foot... According to a news reports from Sandusky, Ohio - Mr. Mahmoud Ajaj, 30, of Dearborn, Michigan was in stable condition after he accidentally shot himself in the leg Monday on the Ohio Turnpike.  Mr. Ajaj was airlifted by Life Flight medical helicopter to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, where he was admitted after the accident.
