Veterans Honor Duvall Teacher and First Grade Class

Veterans honor Duvall teacher Miss Strez class for cheering up patients at Veterans Hospital. The former commander of the Dearborn Allied War Veterans Council, Leo Barrett, honored the Duvall Elementary School principal Glenn Maleyko and first grade teacher Joanne Strez and her class recently for traveling to the Veterans Hospital in Detroit and delivering 160 fruit baskets and 180 thank you cards to express their gratitude for the patients’ military service to the United States. “Cooling Stations” Open in Dearborn

Dearborn residents troubled by the extreme heat are invited to visit the four public libraries and the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center during regular business hours to cool off in the air-conditioned public buildings. The Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., is open from 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Residents are invited to sit in the lobby area. Within The Center, senior citizens are welcome to stay in the Senior Center, which has a lounge.
