Salvation Army Launches $8.2 Million Red Kettle Campaign

DETROIT, Michigan — The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit will launch its annual Red Kettle Campaign throughout Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties on Friday, Nov. 11. This year’s goal is $8.2 million, a figure needed to ensure the organization can continue providing more than 3 million meals and nearly 700,000 nights of shelter each year to the less fortunate. Korean War Armistice Anniversary Ceremony July 27

Dearborn veterans will hold a special ceremony honoring those who served during the Korean War at 5:30 p.m. on July 27 at the Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave. The photo of Korean War veterans is from the 2009 ceremony. Dearborn has been commemorating the armistice since the 50th anniversary of the war in 2001.
