Who Killed Gerald Bojanowski?

September 23, 2009 By Jonathan Light

Dearborn police are seeking a suspect in a recent fatal hit-and-run accident, and asking for the public’s help in locating witnesses or information about the driver and vehicle.

On Saturday, September 12th, Gerald Bojanowski (56 years old, and recently retired from Ford Motor Company) was riding his motorcycle to the “Hogs Heaven” fundraising event at the Fort Dearborn American Legion post on Telegraph Road, when he was apparently struck from behind by a black 2005 Saturn Vue. The driver of the Saturn Vue (described as a white male about 6 feet tall) checked his vehicle for damage and then fled the scene of the accident. Bojanowski was pronounced dead on arrival at Oakwood Hospital.

Sgt. Doug Topolski, of the Dearborn Police Department said the Saturn Vue plate number is BWU-0523.

“We’re asking people in the community to keep looking for this vehicle.” Topolski stated.  Anyone with information about this car, or details related to the incident should call Dearborn Police at (313)943-2275.
