Joan Bayley’s Salad Debuts at Saladworks

October 1, 2010 By News Release

Dearborn, MI – Dearborn resident Joan Bayley recently won Saladworks’  Seasonal Salad of the Year contest. Saladworks, the nation’s first and largest fresh-tossed salad franchise concept, said that Joan’s Salad is available in all locations. Joan’s Salad is a base of the freshest spring mix, iceberg, and romaine lettuce leaves tossed with mushrooms, avocado, and artichokes, topped with rice crisps and a grilled salmon filet. Saladworks suggests finishing off the salad with its signature creamy Green Goddess dressing.

“Saladworks’ line of signature salads offer a mix of flavors, textures, and tastes for our fans, and Joan’s Salad is sure to be a welcome addition to our seasonal menu offerings.”
Joan Bayley salad is the third and final seasonal salad the franchise will debut this year. Bayley’s salad was the winner of Saladworks’ “Create-Your-Own Powerhouse Salad” contest. Winners received a $500 gift card and the opportunity to have their salad sold in stores as a seasonal salad.

“I wanted to bring different textures together in my salad. I love avocado and artichokes together – and mushrooms go on everything!” Bayley said. “I think my salad brought everything together – protein, veggies, and an extra crunch with the rice crisps.”

“Joan’s Salad was selected out of thousands of entries because of the creator’s keen attention to taste detail,” said Saladworks Founder/CEO, John Scardapane. “Saladworks’ line of signature salads offer a mix of flavors, textures, and tastes for our fans, and Joan’s Salad is sure to be a welcome addition to our seasonal menu offerings.”

“I consider myself pretty creative with recipes, and I loved the Saladworks concept, so I thought I’d give the contest a go,” Bayley said. “When I found out I won, I thought to myself, ‘Wow! They think it’s as good as I do!’”

“Joan’s Salad” will be available at all locations until November 1st.
