DEARBORN, Mich. – Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church will hold its third annual Veterans Appreciation Day on Sunday, November 14, 2010 to honor veterans and their families. A special processional will be held during the Sunday morning 10:15 a.m. worship service. In the evening, the church will host a Veterans Appreciation dinner program, beginning at 6 p.m., with Dearborn Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr. as the special guest speaker.
“This is an opportunity to honor the love and devotion of all the veterans who have served our country,” said Reverend Dr. Drew Tomberlin, Jr., pastor of Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church. “It’s a very meaningful opportunity to also recognize those who have served the Lord, their families and our community.”
In July, Cherry Hill Presbyterian provided parking spaces, refreshments and family activities during the annual Telegraph Cruise, and monies raised from this event have been used to host the special Veterans Appreciation dinner program. Visitors are welcome to attend both the morning worship service and evening dinner program.
Several members of the church’s congregation have shared photos and memories from their own service and the service of family members that will be viewed during the evening program.
