DEARBORN, Mich. – The Dearborn Senior Services Division is hosting a variety of helpful and interesting activities in the next few months.
Dearborn Travel Club
The Dearborn Travel Club in conjunction with the Michigan Recreation and Park Association presents the 44th Annual Mackinac Island trip from Friday, October 21 through Monday, October 24. Accommodations will be at the historic Grand Hotel. For more information call 313-943-2385.
Tennis games Mondays and Fridays through October 28
The Ford Woods tennis courts at Ford Road and Greenfield will be open for a friendly game of tennis on Monday and Friday mornings from 9 a.m. – 11a.m through October 28. No fees are required. Drop in and pick up a game of tennis.
Senior Olympics the week of August 15
The Seventh Annual Western Wayne County Senior Olympics is proudly being hosted at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center at 15801 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn.
The events take place the week of August 15.
Seniors will be able to compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in five age categories. Events include: opening ceremony, baking contest, 10-mile biking race, art, table tennis, creative writing, fun walk, 5K run, softball throw, tennis, golf, bridge, volleyball, shuffleboard, swimming, billiards, bowling, ballroom dancing and awards banquet.
Preregistration is required. Packets can be picked up from the Dearborn Senior Center. To participate you must be 50 years or older.
