Oct. 22 Class Offered for Novice Computer Users

October 21, 2011 By News Release

DEARBORN, Mich. – Computer literacy author and instructor Mike Wilson will present the seminar, “Help! I Have a Computer and I Don’t Know What to Do Next!,” at 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 22 in the auditorium of the Henry Ford Centennial Library.

The seminar is designed for mature and recent learners.

Participants will be asked to follow along with a 100-page, easy to understand, step by-step, large-print instructional book that can be taken home. The cost is $25, payable in cash at the door, and includes the book. Please note this is a demonstration seminar only; there is no hands-on computer use during this class.

The instructor has taught hundreds of senior citizens and will cover topics such as using the mouse, hardware and software, basic e-mail and attachments; printing, playing music, copying and pasting, transferring camera pictures, finding free Internet games, using pictures as desktop backgrounds, keyboard shortcuts, and more.

In addition, the book contains 80 basic activities that can be done on your computer right away.

Call the HFCL Reference Desk at (313) 943-2330 to register for this class.
