Wii Bowling Tournament Sparks Friendly Competition

November 3, 2011 By News Release

Dearborn, Michigan – Once a month residents and staff of Oakwood Common get together for a friendly, yet competitive tournament of Wii bowling. Members of the staff reluctantly reveal that they’re usually on the losing side.

“We’ll play three times a week,” said resident George Stevens. “Sometimes more, if we can get a group together on the weekend.”

“The residents have a ‘ringer,’ too,” said Shavon Baker, activities coordinator. “Catherine (Kitty) Cox has bowled more than a few perfect games of 300. She’s simply amazing.”

Baker shared that one staff member’s score during the October tournament was 200, which was still not enough to beat the residents.

“We really don’t feel like it’s us against them,” added Stevens with a smile. “It’s more like we’re family.”
