March 29, 2012 By Jonathan Light

DEARBORN, Michigan –– Comedian Amer Zahr,  the star of a new viral video called “Dance Like An Arab”, will be performing in the theater of the  Arab American National Museum this evening, March 29, at 7:30pm.  Tickets for the show called “1001 Laughs at the Museum” are $15.00. The museum is located across from Dearborn City Hall, at 13624 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn.

On the video, “Dance Like An Arab” Amer explains that “Arabs only have 4 dance moves” and demonstrates how to perform them.  The four dance moves are  ‘change a lightbulb’, ‘windshield wipers’, ‘get away from me’, and ‘come here’.

Mr. Zahr’s bio on Facebook says “Amer is one of the most popular Arab-American comedians around. He has traveled the world performing, and loves making people laugh! He is also a writer and commentator.”

One of Amer’s videos on YouTube – Arab-American Comedian Amer Zahr – has over 522,000 views.

According to his website, AmerZahr.com:

Amer is an Arab-American stand-up comedian and writer. Drawing on his experiences growing up as a child of Palestinian refugees, he finds the humor in everyday cultural situations. As a Palestinian, politics also fall victim to his comedic ways.

He is currently producing his latest tour, “Where Are You From From?” where Amer will be starring with Ahmed Ahmed, a founder of the world-acclaimed “Axis of Evil Comedy Tour.” More information on this tour can be found at 1001Laughs.com.

Amer has performed throughout North America and the Middle East.  He also writes and speaks  on political and social affairs, and has appeared on radio and television, including ABC’s “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher.”
