See first hand how cider is pressed using apples from our own orchard in Firestone Farm on Saturdays or take a tour of the orchard on Sundays during Fall Flavor Weekends. Inside the Village homes get up close as the presenters prepare, bake and preserve based on historic recipes found books such as Buckeye Cookbook, the Boston Cooking School Cook Book and The Story of Crisco Cookbook. Some of the dishes featured include chicken potpie prepared with stuffed cabbage, fricasseed chicken, simmering pork chops and sweet apple cake. The Henry Ford’s Chef Mike Trombley will be giving a family-friendly cooking demonstration alongside his favorite sous-chef, daughter Avery using local ingredients on each Sunday inside A Taste of History at noon and 2 p.m.
