Residents Advised to Clear Snow From Storm Drains

February 20, 2014 By News Release

DEARBORN, MI – Residents are advised to clear snow and ice away from the opening for storm drains or catch basins in the streets near their homes in anticipation of rain and warmer temperatures predicted for Thursday, Feb. 20. Clearing the area around the drain openings will mean rainwater and piles of melting snow will be better able to flow into the drains, reducing street flooding concerns.

Although DPW (Dearborn Public Works) crews have plowed streets, it is not always possible to ensure that accumulated snow is removed from every storm drain. Residents’ cooperation is appreciated.
